In Cagayan de Oro City

If I can have my way I would demolish this old goathouse and replace it with something akin to th one on the right. This is one of the sights in Cagayan de Oro City that serves to remind me that I should build something bigger and better.

Lakatan Bananas in Cagayan de Oro City

A month ago, I started planting Lakatan bananas from suckers I bought from Brod Dodo who has a lakatan farm in Kinoguitan. Planting lakatan bananas is not so easy involving not just land preparation which I did in the most haphazard way but also deciding how many plants you would want in your farm.

I decided it would be best to have a good enough density like 2,100 plants per hectare and computing from that I came up with a scheme of planting each sucker 215 cm. from each other. I think this is a pretty good number. The traditional way is to plant each sucker three meters apart which would result in a density of less than 1000 plants per hectare.

The Night Cafe in Cagayan de Oro City

The Night Cafe seems to have become a permanent fixture in Cagayan de Oro City and merchants ad hawkers as no longer content to show their wares on Friday and Saturday as the designated dates; but they seem to have them at the Divisoria on other days as well. This has come to be accepted by the people of Cagayan de Oro as well who seem to appreciate the fiesta atmosphere of wares being displayed on the streets.

I used to think that the Night Cafe was a big nuisance and that it served very little purpose at all. I could be wrong and the fact that more and more sellers and buyers come to meet on weekends to conduct commerce seems to suggest that this is something that benefits many people. Certainly Cagayan de Oro City has changed in more ways than one. Like or not, the Night Cafe seems to indicate an ever-increasing presence in the lives of the folks of Cagayan de Oro City. C'est la vie.

Why Cagayan de Oro City?

Why indeed? There must be a reason or a ton or reasons. Cagayan de Oro City it is and that is that. Why Cagayan de Oro City? The reason is really not so important as Cagayan de Oro City itself. Maybe the reasons are hidden way down deep in the soul or the mind. Maybe it is not so obvious, maybe there is no special reason for Cagayan de Oro City to be constantly mentioned and spoken of. Does Cagayan de Oro City have a special magic? I really do not know. I did not certainly think so the first time that I did it. It was just a blog and I paid no special mind to it. But recently I have been bitten by the bug to make Cagayan de Oro City the main blog or the main site. Can it be done?

Here they are: Rails brought me to Seaside, Lotto, Yamashita gold, Nothing but FLowers. Lilliput's Flowers.

Ching's World now waits. The work of promoting it through the search engines has borne fruit. The next thing is to get Cagayan de Oro City going. Ching's World still needs some work and I will keep on working on it. There is a lot of work still to be done on Ching's World but that would require that I be in Cagayan de Oro City.

There are many items of interest in Ching's World, Visit also Cagayan de Oro City, Cebu City, Moira Trinity, Dumaguete, Papoy.

Great City, Golden City

This is about Cagayan de Oro City, so-called The City of Golden Friendship. The Fiesta of St. Augustine was celebrated last August but the main street of Apolinar Velez St. still sported the festive buntings that sway in the breeze. There was a time when Apolinar Velez St. was call Del Mar St. Del Mar must have been a local hero or someone important enough to warrant a street named after him.

Check out some of these beauties: Miscellany, Website Promotion, Mind Control, The Internet.

The streets are narrow and now that the City has grown so fast, traffic congestion is the norm rather than the exception especially when you cross the Cagayan River. Hopefully, this problem will be solved by the bridges that are being built.

Come to Ching's World, Dumaguete, Cebu City, Moira Trinity, Papoy, Cagayan de Oro City.
